B-Quizzed @ SIBM Pune

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Pune, the flagship institute of Symbiosis society is organizing "B-Quizzed @ SIBM Pune", a national level business quiz on 4th of September 2011. SIBM Pune, established in 1978, is the fourth best B-School in India, according to Economic Times Corporate Dossier.
B-Quizzed@SIBM Pune is the first of its kind quiz for MBA aspirants. Last year the quiz was open only for undergraduate students, but this year, both corporate and undergraduate participants can participate. A team of three participants can represent a college, MBA preparation cl-ass or a company. The quiz will be held in three stages:
Stage 1: An Online Preliminary Quiz will be hosted on our website between 9:30pm to 10:30pm on the following days.

The participants should attempt a minimum of one of these quizzes to qualify for the National Finals. The results of this quiz will be announced on 25th August 2011.
Stage 2: The second stage will consist of the Pune Regional Round. The round will happen on 4th September 2011. The winner and runner up of the Pune round will qualify into the National Finals.
Stage 3: The third stage will consist of the National Finals. Stage 3 will happen on 4th September 2011, right after the Pune regional round. Six teams from the online round will qualify for the national finals, along with two from Stage 2.
There are prizes worth Rs 70,000 to be won.

SAMRAT, our fellow quizaholic member and his team won the Second Runner Up trophy in a quiz event part of "FESTUUM 2010"- (annual fest of Dr. B.R.Ahmed dental college,Kolkata) on 5th February 2010.

A social initiative by QUIZAHOLIC. Part- I

Hope you all are doing well and also in a sound health and spirit !


Quizaholic which started his journey almost 11 months back(14th August,2008) has now above 250 members in orkut (http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Community.aspx?cmm=53942214).
I on behalf of Quizaholic family like to thank each and every member of this community for their help in building this group. Quizaholic doesn't want to restrict themselves to some discussions of quiz or the quiz events rather want to help the society and the new generation by encouraging them into the true passion of quizzing.


Quizaholic has started a small social initiative, QUIZAHOLICs @ schools ,through which
the members of "Quizaholic" are hosting quiz shows in different schools in the city free of cost. These small quiz contests are being hosted at respective school premises and prizes are awarded to successful contestants.

Our first show was hosted on 18th July,2009 at Dumdum Baidyanath Institution, Kolkata. We had 24 2-member teams in the preliminary round and after that 9 teams were selected for the main round which consisted of Audio, 'Guess who', Rapid fire,Straight Forward and many other rounds.The enthusiasm of the faculty members and the high energy level shown by the students speak for itself that the show was a grand success. A BIG thanks to all the members present.


We have permission of many such kolkata schools where we will soon host Quizaholic-quiz shows.


We the members of Quizaholic like to invite all others to please come forward and help us in this project. You can help us by sponsoring the prizes of the winners or can help us to organize such shows in your school or even in your locality schools. If anybody want to witness such shows are requested to contact with us. We will be glad to have you on board.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Quizaholic family to thank SAMRAT, TAMAL, RITWIK and RITTIK,our fellow quizaholic members for making to the finals of the quiz show of TECHTRONICS ’09 on 9th May, 2009 of GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND CERAMIC TECHNOLOGY.

The preliminary round had 30 strong teams from different prestigious colleges of Kolkata and finally 8 teams were selected for the final rounds......... out of which 2teams were from QUIZAHOLIC community.
kudos to all the above four members..................
Great job done by you guys............................

Quizhaloic so far.....

Our Team Quizaholic has so far conducted two meetings where we have discussed various issues regarding our future plans/actions......We present in brief what actually took place in the two meetings.....

1st Meeting ~~

Venue : Techno India College Technology ,Rajarhat

We have taken some decisions in that meeting . Those are---

1. We are going to have a quiz club in Techno India , Rajarhat college, Kolkata. Soon we will meet with principal of the college and will take some necessary steps .

2. To make this community grow faster we request each of the member of this community to ask their friends to join in this community and take part in all the quiz topics and events.

3. We are proud to have quizzers like Subhro , Abhra, Deep kuntal , but we required more quantitive and qualititive participation from all. As Abhro told me that some of his hardcore quizlovers are going to join this community but still I haven't got any information or confirmation from him.

4. We are hoping to organise a Quiz Show in Techno india , Rajarhat college in April , 2009 . So we required your ideas and thoughts on this matter..........

2nd Meeting~

The meeting highlighted the need for:
1)Proper syndication of activities.
2)Proper organizational skills be known.
3)Participate in more events.
4)Get more people interested in quizzing as a Whole.
5)To further the community from in college to Pan College/instituion.
